Improving My Efficiency – Business Lesson 55

In this assignment I have to write 250 words and summarize what I can cut out of my weekly schedule to improve efficiency.

The easiest and most obvious thing to cut out would be screen time. I spend most of my extra time on the screen watching YouTube videos and playing chess online. Neither of these activities is productive, and the time used in them is completely wasteful. There’s nothing that I watch on YouTube that’s beneficial other than RMRS style/etiquette videos. I am quite literally throwing away my time. Unredeemable time. In the amount of time I pointlessly squander on YouTube, I could learn a language. A new language! The fact that I still waste time on YouTube, knowing full well of its dangers and the benefits that’d come with quitting it is completely ludicrous. I can cut YouTube out.

Another aspect of my weekly routine that I can cut is watching movies on the weekend. You could argue that movies are the same as screen time, but I separate the two because in my case movies are a family activity. YouTube is not. That being said, there are still better things we could do with our time than watch the modern b-grade movies that Hollywood has been regurgitating lately. Especially since the ones that don’t suck are just blatant copies of their older counterparts. e.g. Top Gun: Maverick. I can cut movies out.

To conclude, cutting out or seriously decreasing movies and YouTube videos from my life would be a tremendous service in the long run.

Author’s note: Just because I said it was a good idea to cut out YouTube and movies, doesn’t mean I’m going to do it. I might, but no promises… Dad.
